I Unplug When…

How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?

Interesting that this is the daily prompt! I’m just returning from being “unplugged” during the entire month of May. It’s something I had been longing to do for years, and would do so for a few days at a time. However, this time was different. This time I unplugged/disconnected and didn’t look back. Usually, I would log out of my apps or delete them from my phone so I wouldn’t be tempted to return. Not this time. I just stopped cold turkey. It’s amazing what you can do when you really want to.

So, to answer the first question. I knew and know when to unplug when I find myself becoming anxious after scrolling through my social media feeds. When I began thinking about my timeline more than the present moment. When I find myself checking my apps every few minutes to see if anything has changed or anything new has happened. That’s when I know it’s time to unplug.

This is my first day of blogging again from this blog and my other blog site—ItsShaunsWorld2.com. On my other blog, I had been posting for 1,811 consecutive days (multiple times a day) and I just stopped. I unplugged. And it was one of the best decisions I’d ever made. I still haven’t returned to X, Instagram, or Facebook, and honestly, I have no desire to return. Life is so much more peaceful without being there.☺️

I hope you find time to unplug and fully reconnect with the present and all the wonderful things surrounding you. Life is meant to be lived and experienced in the present moment physically, not virtually.

Thanks for reading. Have a wonderful June!

Signed and sealed with love,

Shaun♥️

  1. Nice. My most recent ‘unplugged’ weekend was fabulous. I revisited the few vinyl records that I own one evening and started reading a book from the Must-Read-Pile on Sunday. “Oh, yeah. I remember this…” 🙂
